Detra Davis, a native of Washington, DC was raised in the US Virgin Islands where she performed in many ensembles including Caribbean Chorale, Voices of Love, and other church choirs. She also appeared in productions at the Pistarckle Theater, Island Center, and Reichhold Center for the Performing Arts. While earning a BA in Music Education from the University of the Virgin Islands, she sang with local bands such as Imagination Brass, Headline Band, Spectrum Band, and Full Circle. Detra was also Musical Director at Pistarckle Theater. 

Davis received her MM in Vocal Performance from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently sings in the Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian Church as an intern and holds various positions, including board member for the Music Academy of North Carolina, member of the Carol Brice Music Association, member of the National Association of Negro Musicians, NANM’s southeastern region secretary, and program and social advisor for the Kappa Gamma chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota.

Davis recently performed in Greensboro Opera’s production of Porgy and Bess. She has performed in and was assistant to the director for numerous Greensboro Opera productions, including Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Hansel and Gretel, The Magic Flute, Falstaff, and Pagliacci.

Maggie Ramirez, soprano, graduated from Furman University with a BM in Vocal Performance, where she studied with Lisa Barksdale. She is currently pursuing her MM in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from UNCG, where she studies with Dr. Robert Wells. Her recent roles include Maguelonne in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon, Dorothée in Massenet’s Cendrillon, the Mother (cover) in Hansel and Gretel and the ensemble of She Loves Me, and the title role in Bastien und Bastienne.

In the summer of 2017, Ramirez was a studio artist at SongFest in Los Angeles. She also participated in Furman’s Music in Italy program in 2018, where she studied at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. In 2019, she had the privilege of participating as a Young Artist at the Festival Lyrique-en-mer in Belle-Île, France. In 2021, Ramirez had the pleasure of participating in Source Song Festival as a part of their MN Duo Program.

Roman Fenner is a 22-year-old tenor from Richmond, Virginia. A senior at Davidson College, he pursues a double major in Biology and Music on a Pre-Medical course track. Roman has studied classical voice in the studio of Jaquelyn Culpepper and performed in a variety of vocal ensembles throughout his four years of undergraduate study.

He has performed a number of masterworks with the Davidson College Chorale, including Mozart’s Requiem and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms in recent months. As a soloist, Roman has performed with the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble, as well as Isabel Leonard, mezzo-soprano.

He additionally completed his senior voice recital this past February, highlighting the musical theatre works of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, Sondheim, and more. Following graduation, Roman hopes to attend medical and looks forward to a lifetime of musicianship. 

Baritone Forrest Bunter brings the drama to the stage with his expressive voice. Establishing his presence as a comic and versatile performer, this winter he joined the ranks of the North Carolina Opera Chorus in NCO’s productions of La bohème and Die Zauberflöte.

In addition to his recent stage work, he has a special interest in concert repertoire. As a Choral Intern with First Presbyterian Church’s Chancel Choir, Forrest has been able to grow his passion for sacred choral works as well as being the baritone soloist for Fauré’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah.

A recent alumnus of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, Bunter honed his stagecraft in productions with UNCG Opera Theatre as Warden Frank in Die Fledermaus, Gianni Schicchi in Gianni Schicchi, and Mr. Cox in Cox and Box.
