Aisslinn Nosky headshotCo-Artistic Leader and violinist Aisslinn Nosky features on a new CD to be released on Friday, July 10, 2026. Aisslinn and fortepianist Yi-heng Yang appear together on “A Richness of Fancy: The Complete Sonatas Op. 1 of Jane Mary Guest.”

In her lifetime, pianist Jane Mary Guest (1762–1846) dazzled as a virtuosa. The daughter of a tailor, she soon attracted musical attention in her native Bath and went on to study with J.C. Bach.

This previously unrecorded set of keyboard sonatas with accompanimental violin (dedicated to Queen Charlotte) beautifully captures the grace, wit, and sparkle of this unjustly forgotten composer.

European Magazine’s review says, “In our perusal of Miss Guest’s Sonatas, we discover somewhat of a richness of fancy, aided very often by an elegance of embellishment, and lucky strokes of science…”

Guest’s illustrious list of subscribers, half of whom were women, included prominent members of British royalty, as well as the cultural literati and leading musicians, composers, organists, instrument builders, music dealers, professors, and artists of the day.

The CD is being released by Deux-Elles, an independent classical record label based in the UK. It is available in the U.S. through Presto Music. Two “singles” are currently available on Spotify, for those who have a subscription.
