Michael H. Trammell

A Charlotte native, Michael H. Trammell is a highly sought after tenor specializing in early baroque music. As an early music tenor, Michael has sung in festivals all over the world. Recently, he performed with the Bach Cantata Academy for the Thüringer Bachwochen in Weimar, Germany under the distinguished baton of renowned Bach specialist, Helmuth Rilling. Previously, Michael was also a part of the Internationale BachAkademie in Stuttgart, Germany under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann.

Stateside, Michael has performed with the Holy Trinity Lutheran Bach Vespers series in New York City under the direction of Donald Meineke. He was also invited to the Amherst Early Music Festival in New London, Connecticut where he appeared as both Valére and Damon in Kevin Mallon and Drew Minter’s production of Jean-Philippe Rameau’s rarely performed opera, Les Indes galantes.

In Charlotte, Michael is in high demand. In addition to his Tenor Section Leader position at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, he performs with the Charlotte Symphony Chorus, Charlotte Symphony Chamber Chorus, Carolina Catholic Chorale, and VOX – Firebird Arts Alliance.

Michael received his Bachelors of Science from Clemson University. He is married to Andrea Mumm and lives in Charlotte.
