____________

Every year we add to our library of resources as we dive into Bach's masterful music. This year we will start our exploration of Florilegium Portense, a collection of motets originally published around 1618 and integral to the Thomaskirche's repertoire in Leipzig during J.S. Bach's tenure as Thomaskantor. Several of these motets have recently been researched and republished by Frederick Jordy, Senior Lecturer in Music and Director of Choral Activities at Brown University.

Our musicians travel from around the country to study and share the music of J.S. Bach with the Charlotte community. Dedicated to rigorous scholarship, we aim to make Bach's music accessible. Building a library of source and reference material aids us greatly in that fundamental endeavor.

Please consider making a gift today and help us reach our goal of $2,500.

Thank you for all you do for Bach Akademie Charlotte!
